The first three photographs which appear below were collected by  J.(Jack) Emery Long,  Lieutenant (later Captain) of the United States Army Air Force Intelligence.  They were published in an album entitled  42nd Bomb Wing (US),  Road & rail bridges Central Italy, Bomb damage survey.  Unfortunately these three photographs were printed back to front.  The versions you are now looking at  have been 'flipped' and are correct.

Wendy and Ian Dodds at the monument 8 April 2014. Wendy's uncle 1481903 Sergeant Frederick Neville Hollingsworth, 107 Battery, 27 Lt. A.A. Regiment. Royal Artillery,who had been captured at Tobruk, was killed during the bombing of the train.
